THE TOYOTA GOLF CUP 2008
Toyota Tanzania Ltd, hosted its the 6th Toyota Golf Cup at the Dar Gymkhana on Saturday October 18th.
This hugely popular event attracted a draw of over 150 players both Toyota invite corporate guests and Gymkhana Club members.
In the Toyota Tanzania tradition, the 1-day team tournament included many surprises and enjoyable twists such as a power breakfast to kick start the day, masseuse that kept the players reinvigorated with relaxing massages in the heat, a mini barbeque overlooking the ocean on Hole 8, a unique opportunity for players to analyse their golf swing in slow motion as well as various other challenges and ideas across the course. Overall the day?s tournament was fun, dynamic, vibrant and interactive.
Across the course Toyota exhibited its core and new models such as the luxurious and futuristic Landcruiser 200 Series, the powerful Landcruiser hardtop and pickup, the ubiquitous and versatile Hilux and stylish SUVS, the RAV4 and Terios.
The tournament culminated with a sumptuous and lavish Indian Dinner and Prize Giving Ceremony at the Roof Top terrace in the evening. A number of Ambassador?s, VIPs and key Toyota Clients were welcomed in awe and surprise into a themed ?Gentleman?s Club? complete with cigar lounge.
Mahmood A. Karimjee, Managing Director of Toyota Tanzania Ltd welcomed the guests at the Prize Giving Dinner.
He went on to say that the Golf Cup allows Toyota Tanzania to get closer to their clients; to understand their specific needs and requirements; and to change to meet their expectations. In Toyota Speak, this is called ?Voice of The Customer?
The customer Voice is also religiously conveyed back to Nagoya and Toyota City in Japan to enable Toyota Motor Corporation to drive its Kaizen activities.
Kaizen is the corner stone of Toyota`s global philosophy and is focused on the continual improvement of the products. Products that are used in harsh Tanzanian conditions where reliability is crucial both for safety and efficiency.
Mr. Karimjee ended by saying ?It is very much like a golf swing! The process requires hard work, dedication, practice and continual evaluation and changes?
